The art nouveau architecture |
|
 |
| |
The Art Nouveau Architecture excursion will
take about an hour. Art Nouveau is one of the styles that dominate in architectural
heritage of Riga. Riga is known as the "capital" of the Art Nouveau.
It is really worth seeing. There is no other place in the world where you
can find so many magnificent Art Nouveau buildings. Spread throughout the
City, but you will find the most expressive specimens concentrated on the
Alberta street, Elizabetes street, Vilandes street and Strelnieku street.
The architect Mikhail Eisenstein (1867-1921) -the father of the famous moviemaker
Sergey Eisenstein constructed most of these buildings. The facades of the
buildings are decorated with beautiful lines, flowery garlands and marvelously
sculptured figures. The interior of the building is as much inspiring as
the outside façade; it shows rich history of the house and its owners.
Welcome to the city of beautiful Art Nouveau Architecture. |
